Katrine: “I had taken other courses, a little bit here and there, but it always ends up with me kind of giving up because I’m not motivated, and that’s because it has been a lot of just the grammar, grammar, grammar…and what I really, really like about this course so far is how the grammar is mixed with the speaking, and we are forced to speak, so the way that it’s combined it’s really, really nice. So it gets more real.”

“I have studied Spanish before and my knowledge of Spanish was very passive, I was not feeling confident enough to speak, to use it. But now, in class with Raquel the main focus is speaking, we only do speaking exercises. I feel like I finally get to use my knowledge from before in practice.”

I’m finding the program incredibly useful. The group I’m in are delightful. They’re lovely people. We enjoy our sessions. And the program works for me. That’s the thing with a lot of language programs. It’s finding the thing that works for you. And this just works for me. It works for me because in our small group you are encouraged to speak. And we are all very much, I think at the same level, so no one feels embarrassed about trying to try something, and you are continually learning from other people as to how they pronounce things. It’s just that practical speech usage that is, that is working for me. I would absolutely recommend it.

When I have tried learning Spanish in the past I never had the confidence to speak it as I would worry my pronunciation was incorrect. Having conversation-focused lessons helped to build my confidence. It also focused on real-life examples of when you could use different phrases. I loved my group! They were all at a similar level to me and we helped each other through the course. I recommend it 100%, It’s taught me loads about Spanish sentence structure and the why behind it, which makes it easier to remember.

It is fun conversing with other learners, learning things together, and learning things from others in the group. Raquel gives you practical tips and advice for speaking in the real world, motivation to keep learning, keep practicing, and keep SPEAKING! I liked most the opportunity to practice making sentences, learning vocabulary and grammar, and gaining confidence to speak in various practical contexts, in a safe space. Being able to ask questions and clarify things.

We got to practice our speaking with each other, it was a fun way to get comfortable with the language. What I liked the most about this course is the level of interaction you get to have with other students as well as the teacher. You get your doubts answered instantly and as the lessons take place in small groups, it’s even more beneficial if you’re stuck on something or unsure, you can ask straight away. The best thing I would say is Raquel 😁 she is absolutely an amazing teacher. She is very helpful and encourages us to ask questions and doubts. She also encourages for more participation and makes one feel at ease.
